The news is out! A few years ago editor of 2000AD Matt Smith credited ComicScene for the resurgence of the digital 2000AD Annual and now we have influenced another Christmas piece of 2000AD history. The Christmas Judge Dredd story is influenced by Strefs work on Tara Togs. Stref draws the story by Ken Niemand and we understand it has a very Tintin inspired theme to it. Don’t miss MikMak’s very big Mega City adventure in the Christmas Prog. Order it here https://bit.ly/4owiKFK and get Tara Togs the Silence of Unicorns here with other Christmas gift ideas from ComicScene and Stref here

A month to go before Christmas and I have a small pile of collections and annuals that I supported on Kickstarter to get through.
I was going to be finishing off ‘Ragtime Soldier’ just now but the book is going to be slightly delayed. I am pleased to say that we have covered Pat Mills latest Kickstarter ‘Hellbreaker’ in the latest ComicScene Comic Review.
In 2026 there will be another ComicScene Yearbook (the 2026 edition will be sent out soon) and a new Tara Togs book. A sample page from Stref can be seen above. It is looking fabulous.
With Peter Pan arriving to Kickstarter backers now, the Yearbook and signing off on Ragtime I will have a chat with Steve Tanner at Time Bomb to discuss books for 2026 but, at present, I’m not planning anything.
There is a Black Friday offer on our substack for paid subscribers. Get 50% off and you also get a copy of Tara Togs Book One when you subscribe. We will be plugging our books as unique Christmas gifts and the ComicScene Shift store will be updated very soon. Taking a paid subscription to the Substack is one way to get Tara for a child, friend or family member if you already have a copy. Please do support what we do. Thanks.

Picked up 2000AD, the Meg and Heavy Metal has appeared in my local shop. I have a pile of comics to read but find myself binge watching Stranger Things. Completed packing up our £1000 worth of comics with prizes of £100 and £50 worth of comics too. Winners will be getting their prizes on the doorstep any day now.
Peter Pan is also being sent out. It’s great to get this book out of the door and you can now get it at our Shift Store in softback, hardback and deluxe hardback for that very special Christmas gift.
The ComicScene Yearbook 2026 has been signed off, will be printed and the next publication to leave ComicScene Towers. I’m really proud of how it has turned out and excited for you to see the ComicScene Award winners. With the cost of living crisis still impacting on book sales for everyone we are likely to make the collectors edition available as two cheaper publications – a 100 page ComicScene Yearbook 2026 and a 100 page Best of ComicScene – the 2000AD articles. We are discussing the viability of bringing the Yearbook to newsstands early in the new year.
To clear the decks we have Pat Mills Ragtime Soldier to complete. An update on that and our books planned for 2026 next week!

Steve Tanner from ‘Time Bomb ComicScene’ is down at Thought Bubble with a new Peter Pan banner and preview copies of our first official book together, ‘Peter Pan’ by Stref and Fin Cramb. Copies are going out to kickstarter backers. Thanks for your support on this wonderful book.
