“I will admit to only reading the first pages because (unlike most years) the back end is continuing stories and I’ve fallen behind on 2000ad
First up is JD although it’s Rico junior who on being shot is visited by “3 Ghosts” and there all similarities to Charles Dickens end. All the baddies are shot, the kids saved, the ghosts disappear. Foreshadowing is completed.
Then Azimuth, which is now Sinister Dexter. Talk about foreshadowing a new character is introduced called Andi!! I leave that guess work of who she is to you!!
Anderson, Psi-Div, next, kids are being mind controlled but who by? Fair and neat story.
Fiends of the Eastern Front – Romanian vampires and Krampus face off. A well written and drawn story. The artwork really suits this type of story.
Strontium Dog by Rufus Hound & Dan Cornwell. Rufus Hound the comedian!! Wow! I think this is the first story with Johnny Alpha as an adult since Carlos Ezquerra’s death in 2018? It’s a good one, about friendship, hallucinating, and doing the right thing, perhaps even deeper than that! Great story
Rogue Trooper by Geoffrey D. Wessel & Simon Coleby, a sort of Christmas tale about a runaway boy, a dying cyborg and saving a caravan of people. Whilst nowhere near as good as Blighty Valley, this was a moving and heartfelt story
So there you go the last one of the year. A real Christmas stocking full of bits you like, stuff you want more of? Some useful stuff and things you’d never normally try!
