ComicScene relaunch digital offering

From Wednesday 14th April ComicScene are relaunching and revamping their digital offering for comic fans and comic creators. You can access more details here.

The ComicScene.org website will continue as a free resource with additional news and comic content available by subscription from only £5 a month.

The launch will include, for the first time, access in digital to the 116 page ComicScene Annual 2021, with 22 all new stories from the best indie creators in the U.K. and US. You will also be able to access all the first four books of the History of Comics, additional History of Comics articles and links from each featured year, over 2500 pages of ComicScene material, free indie comics (with more to come weekly) and the ComicScene Comic Creator Directory.

With every new member who joins ComicScene will also do a draw for all members to be in with the chance to win a free comic book – from comic collections to new and classic comics. The more members who join, the more free comics will be made available.

There will be access to US and U.K. comics via GetMyComics and the ability to auction your comics via Excalibur Auctions. ComicScene are also offering a free grading service for selling your comics and to find out how much they are worth.

All this is for only £5 a month digital option (with £10 and £20 print options available) but ComicScene have also announced an additional half price digital offering for the unemployed, registered disabled, pupils/students/librarians/teachers/academics and comic creators/shops/event organisers. On top of that comic creators will get access to free marketing support for their comics, crowdfunders, commissions, shops and events. Please email comicsceneuk@gmail.com for access to the offer.

Publisher Tony Foster said today, “This is an exciting development for comic fans and creators, with more resources, exclusive events and free comics to come. With every new member we will be investing in new online comic content and promoting comics. Thanks to investment into our recent kickstarters we are extending a low cost digital option to help the most vulnerable in society and extend our content to others, who may have had a tough year, at an affordable price. It’s not just a subscription to content like the History of Comics – it will feel like attending a Comic Con every week!”
