Neil Gaiman is to return to the Sandman universe he created thirty years ago, overseeing a series of four new comic book series for DC Comics
Sandman was one of a number of mature titles from DC which led to the highly popular Vertigo line 25 years ago.
The new series starts with a one off Sandman special in August. The book, plotted by Gaiman, is written by Nalo Hopkinson, Kat Howard, Si Spurrier and Dan Watters. The four writers will then go on to explore the threads from the one off special. Hopkinson will write ‘House of Whispers’, Howard will follow up the adventures of Timothy Hunter in a new series of ‘Books of Magic’, Spurrier will explore the world of ‘The Dreaming’ and Watters will focus on ‘Lucifer’.
The announcement of the new series was made by Entertainment Weekly on their website. They also interview Gaiman and published the proposed covers for the title. You can read that here.
At ComicsFlix we hope to cover this exciting new series in our new magazine ComicScene UK, which begins in May. You can subscribe now through our shop here.
