Brandon Ellison Space Pop Cats

Brandon Ellison has been wrangling monsters, both real and imagined, for over 20 years, and he swears the real ones are scarier. After honing his skills in practical effects at an Academy Award-winning special effects studio, he transitioned to screenwriting, earning the Best Indie Film award from the Los Angeles Film Awards in 2017. Nowadays, when not directing and producing advertising content, Brandon sidesteps adulthood by crafting worlds through comic books and graphic novels.

He credits his productivity to a mix of caffeine, quantum physics, and possibly a pact with an ancient deity—though he won’t confirm that last part. Currently, he is preparing for an October 1st Kickstarter campaign for Space Pop Cats issue #2 and developing another series, Dames of the Dead, set to launch early next year.

As an 80s baby, Brandon was heavily influenced by team-based superhero groups like the Silverhawks and TMNT. He aims to bring this nostalgia back with a modern reimagining in his new series, Space Pop Cats.

For this series, Brandon has teamed up with the extremely talented Benjamin Paulus, who has spent over a decade navigating the digital badlands as an art director and artist. Ben has made his mark in games, film, animation, and comics, working with giants like Nintendo, Blizzard, Disney, and Bandai.

Embarking on a fateful voyage to Mars, a pilot’s destiny unfolds when an ancient crystal grants her visions, unveiling her ancestral legacy to aid the Space Pop Cats, giant feline extraterrestrials and guardians of the creation crystals. United with her allies, she must conquer her inner turmoil, confront rejected gods, and thwart an impending apocalypse to safeguard her world and the very fabric of the universe.

Think: TMNT meets The Fifth Element meets Silver Hawks.
A modern reimagining of the golden age of team-based superheroes!
