Scarlet Traces The Great Game.
This is a continuation of War of the Worlds. Which then was continued with Britain using the tech to their advantage and becoming a space power.
In this story WWI and II have been avoided and the front line is now in Mars. The war has been going for decades now and young people are going to Mars never to be seen again!
Again this was a cracker perhaps not as good as the first book but still good.
Again there’s cameos this time from Dan Dare and Digby – it must be said the story is very similar to Revolvers “Dare” from back in the day. There’s also a cameo I think from Bob and Terry from “whatever happened to the likely lads” as a pair of technicians who become “unlikely” heroes (see what I did there).
Starting the year off with a bang I’ll find the rest of these soon.
