This issues fantastic cover is by Steve Austin and you can read about the process of developing the illustration on the 2000AD website.

It’s a one off Dredd this week by Michael Carroll and Silvia Califano and it has all the elements of a Dredd story I like. Jinty Pink is the wrong girl in the wrong place at the wrong time who ends up on prime time TV after saving Dredd life. She then proceeds to find herself supporting and then dissing the judges in a media storm.

Helium Scorched Earth comes to a satisfying end and new beginning. I’ve loved Ian Edginton and D’Israeli’s work on this series and one to read all together.

Peter Milligan and Rufus Dayglo present part 11 of The Devils Railroad. This comes close to the old school art we expect from classic 2000AD.

Enemy Earth seems to change track from Killer Plants – or is it? I need to go back to catch up with what is going on here. Fun though from Cavan Scott and Luke Horsman.

Rounding off this new year issue is Feral and Foe by Dan Abnett and stunning art by Richard Elson. More sword and sorcery than Sci Fi this has some outstanding set pieces which jump from the page.

All in all not a bad start to 2024 from 2000AD.
