  1. Check out all the latest kickstarter news at our website but here’s some you may have missed. ‘Always The Same Story’ is a new comic series with a simple premise; each creative team is given the same prompt and must then create a unique story using their own specific skills and styles.

For issue #1, the prompt is “memory”. Any character in the story must deal with a lapse in memory. It’s up to the creators to tell us what they are forgetting and how they remember (or if they remember). This issue, there will be 28 different stories told by 28 different teams of creatives. Each team will have one page to tell their own unique story that explores the theme of the issue and really showcases their own talents. Pledge here

2) WarFighter is written by Laurence Alison and illustrated by Warwick Fraser Coombe, Steven Austin, David Hitchcock, Paul McCaffrey and Luke Michael Copsey. Pledge here

3) Hatch Match and Dispatch for September in the Rusty Staples blog can be read here

4) Its a time for celebration as the Awesome Comics Podcast and Viz Comics meet for the first time ever! Graham Drury and Simon Thorp join the gang to talk about the long running comics institution that has been filling the newsstands with laughs for decades. From classic characters, hilarious letters, art process and the future for the comic, its a great interview that’s not to be missed. Listen here

  1. From the Treasury of British Comics – Arthurian legend meets Harry Potter – a charming collection of the classic Kelpie the Boy Wizard is coming in June 2024. First published 60 years ago in Wham! with gorgeous art by John Burns, apprentice sorcerer Kelpie and the wizard Merlin protect the King Arthur’s kingdom! This week we also saw a copy of Smash! comic issue 2 cover.

That’s it for this week. We hope you can support the kickstarters, comics, blogs, poscasts and comic cons listed above and below.
