Tara Togs, by Stephen White, is to appear in the first issue of ComicScene.
Tara lives on the outskirts of Edinburgh and is a young amateur photographer who has big dreams of becoming a professional. She uses her late father’s Nikon, developing her pictures in her own dark room at home…but always backing up on her laptop! Join her and private detective Heggy in the pages of ComicScene for an exciting story of mystery and secrets.
Publisher Tony Foster explains how he came across Tara, “I visited Stephen White to collect some artwork for an exhibit I was working on and he showed me his latest project. I was immediately drawn to the character and the draughtmanship on the artwork was stunning.”
“When I was thinking of relaunching ComicScene I wanted a picture strip that would appeal to as many readers as possible. A magazine needs a comic character that defines what they are about. It was proving to be an impossible task. But suddenly here she was. There was a touch of Tintin, the comic strip we were all introduced to via our local libraries, a european style with a mix of old and modern comics, a female character that would appeal to children and adults and a touch of Indiana Jones style adventures. I wanted to read more about this character so much. It was like discovering the Harry Potter of comics. That character was Tara Togs.”
“I have been around comics for a long time and I don’t say this lightly. When I say pledge for the ComicScene kickstarter because you are about to see the start of a great journey I truly mean it. You are making this piece of comic history happen. This is going to be a collectors item. I think Tara Togs is going to be huge!”
