ComicScene Review: 2000AD Regened – only one left!

Usually when I pop into my local WHSmith there is still a pile of 2000ADs for the weekend rush. Not this week. It’s a Regened week. When 2000AD hands over the reigns to an all ages version of the prog. By all accounts it’s flying out the door – and this picture is certainly evidence of that.

I like the Regened Progs. I think they are a good idea and fit quite nicely alongside the revisions of titles from the Treasury of British Comics. If I was being very picky I’d say they have been a little too kid friendly, unlike 2000AD in the late 70’s/early 80’s. That’s an odd approach as I think 8 year olds are exposed to a lot more adult content on social media and YouTube. But then parents/carers make sure their kids wear a helmet when cycling these days (not likely in the 70’s on your chopper!) so perhaps they are safety conscious about what their kids read.

Interestingly this issue seems to be a little more, well, mature. It’s a consistent read throughout and dare I say it slightly risqué compared to previous issues. From both an adult and kids point of view that’s great, so the title is really moving along quite nicely.

So Practically Pooh Free Pandora Perfect Prog in every way. I’m not going to spoil any of the surprises inside. Make up your own mind…if you can get your hands on one!
